Escape the capital & visit Norfolk!

Situated in the centre of Norfolk, Carrick’s at Castle Farm is the perfect base from which to explore our fascinating county, from the wide open beaches of North Norfolk to the special landscape of the Brecks to the south, home to the endangered stone curlew and other wildlife.

Carrick's is at the heart of the family farming enterprise comprising 400 acres of combinable crops and 300 acres of grassland, utilised by 100 beef suckler cows, including the noted Pennyspot herd of 30 Rare Breed White Park cows and their calves.

Carrick's at Castle Farm Guest House is located on the banks of the River Wensum in the parish of Swanton Morley. It has been the home of the Carrick family for over 80 years and we now have pleasure in sharing this beautiful place with our guests.

There are good transport links to the county of Norfolk and once you arrive, there are a variety of ways to get around and explore the area. The gentle landscape of the county means it is ideal for cycling and walking.

Early Breakfast:

Sample the best locally grown produce as part of a traditional farmhouse breakfast or a delicious evening meal which shares the same focus on high quality ingredients and exceptional home cooking.

From July 2012 we will be offering Early Breakfast for all our guests.

Late Suppers:

Late suppers will be also available on request from July 2012.

Packed lunches:

Food will be expensive on the trains and at the Olympic venues so we will be offering packed lunches, on request for all our guests from July 2012.

Free events

There will be several Olympic events which will be free to view – large sections of the marathon, cycle road racing and parts of the triathlon. Plus guests can soak up the atmosphere in some of the major parks where events will be taking place, such as Hyde Park, and the Olympic Park itself is free to enter (though numbers will be restricted).

The Games - getting there

*    There is no access by car to the London 2012 Games. The organisers plan for 100% of spectators to get to the Games by public transport – the aim is to be the greenest games ever.

*    The majority of spectators will travel to the Games by rail.

*    Tickets to the games will include free travel on London public transport for the day of your ticket.

*    Allow 30 minutes from gateway stations to your sporting venue.
